Functions:

 

Quality control deals with the cases relating to the recoveries of quality cuts imposed/shortage in transit on wheat stocks by the Food Corporation of India at the time of dispatch of the said stocks from the delinquent officials. Besides, this branch also deals with the purchase of fumigants/pesticides, i.e. Celphos, Malathion and DDVP to keep the health of wheat stocks in good condition as well as deals with imparting training to Field Staff, with a view to get them trained how to use/treat the Celphos, Malathion and DDVP etc.this branch deals with the purchse of Fumigants, i.e. Celphos, Malathion and D.D.V.P. to keep the health of wheat stocks in good condition. Celphos is purchased through Punsup. Malathion and D.D.V.P. are purchased through Markfed. Thus the above mentioned Fumigants (Celphos, Malathion and D.D.V.P) are purchased as per the demand of each district and supplied to them as per their demand. The payment of Fumigants to Punsup and Markfed is made directly to Punsup and Markfed by the concerned District Controllers Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs as per the the fixed rates yearly. Wheat stockcar treated with Celphos @ two tablets per MT thrice a year. Similarly wheat stocks are sprayed with Malathion @ one liter per 2375 MT fortnightly besides.

 

Norms

 

Wheat stocks are sprayed with DDVP @ one liter per 9500 MT fortnightly. This branch also imparts training to the field staff regarding the use/treatment of Celphos, Malathion and DDVP once a year.
